Greece's Best Practice in Sustainable Financing

In March 2017, the European Commission, together with the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), established the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) at the 2017 Circular Economy Stakeholder Conference in view of kick-starting the transition towards a Circular Economy in Europe.

The ECESP is a virtual open space whose aim is to promote the transition to a circular economy by facilitating policy dialogue among stakeholders, by disseminating good practices, strategies and voluntary commitments, and by providing information on the circular economy and related activities. The Platform bridges existing initiatives at local, regional and national level, and supports the implementation of the circular economy.

Sporos Platform has had the honour of having its concept recognised by the European Commission as the only Impact Investing Fund from Greece to be published on ECESP as a ‘best practice’ for its unique contribution towards inclusive & sustainable growth.

Our Team is proud of this achievement and recognises the responsibility that this brings in terms of promoting and raising Greece’s profile among European partners as a Member State that, ten years following the so-called “Greek crisis”, is now at the forefront of the transition towards the new economy and a better future for all of Europe.
